Volunteer opportunities

Pre-Festival volunteer opportunities include:

  • Building the bird. Starting in September, our build team spends their Saturdays and Sundays building the bird for the festival. Join the team and help construct this year's beautiful design.

  • Feed the builders. Our builders build up an appetite as they build the bird, and we need volunteers to help make sure our team is nourished so they can get the job done. Sign up and deliver food to the team on a Saturday or Sunday during build season (September–December). Sign-up sheet coming soon.

  • Marketing and promotion. Got great ideas to help spread the word and keep our community informed? Let us know what you can do.

  • Fundraising. The Firebird Festival may be free to attend, but it costs real money to put this event on. Do you have experience and ideas for fundraising? We're all ears.

Day-of volunteer opportunities include:

  • On-site parking. We need volunteers to help direct traffic and get our performers and volunteers parked in the appropriate locations.

  • Festival vendors. Our vendors need assistance getting their booths and wares ready for the festival.

  • General safety and security. We need a team of folks to keep and eye on festival attendees and alert the local police and emergency staff if you notice anything that requires attention.

  • Merch booth. We have merchandise to sell and need folks to man the booth during festival hours.

  • General set-up. There are dozens of details to attend to and lots of construction and tasks to be done in the hours leading up to the festival.

Post-festival opportunities include:

  • Clean-up. With thousands of attendees making their way to and through the festival, there's a lot to clean up in the days and weeks after the event.
